void of course

the earth will swing us, as she goes

happy may day!

‘he had noticed that events were cowards: they didn’t occur singly, but instead they would run in packs and leap out at him all at once’

it’s true – i often find that things really do happen in threes – sometimes all at once. in one day i found out i wasn’t as safe as i thought, realized someone didn’t feel as i thought they did & of course to top it off, i tripped over dog & fell down my back stairs. again. have to watch those stupid stairs, i should keep a running tally.

this life is amazing. how people can be so good & kind & wonderful & suffer; how others can be awful & lie & cheat & steal & still get everything they want. how nothing seems to go the way you want it to & you either deal with it or you can dwell on it. there are creatures out there i have never even seen. people who’s hands i will never hold. & we’re all contained on this little teeny planet that seems so big to us. how is it, that there are girls who will play this awful game where they will pretend to be something they are not, to get what they want & everyone falls for it? how can someone live with that on their conscience? that you were other than what you are, in order to take something or someone who maybe wasn’t supposed to be yours? i won’t play that game – i mean what i say & if you want to know just ask me.

[today is mayday, the festival of the first day of summer, festival of flowers. when we were little, we used to leave may baskets on doorsteps, ring the bell & run away. long before i was born or thought of, people danced around a decorated pole & celebrated the goddess & the transition of cold to warm.]
